Introducing OSCAR: Free open-source tools for adaptation, resilience, and transition planning and finance

On 3 December 2025, OSCAR hosted a webinar introducing its free, open-source toolkit for governments, resilience practitioners, civil-society organisations and others working on adaptation and resilience planning.

Alpha-Klima took part as a member of the OSCAR development team and contributed to the discussion and live demonstration of the platform’s early prototypes.

What the webinar introduced

The session explained the problem OSCAR is designed to address: climate-impact and resilience analysis can be difficult to access, reproduce and connect to planning and finance.

Speakers discussed how open tools can help users explore hazards, assess impacts and compare resilience priorities while keeping the underlying methods visible. The demonstration showed the direction of the early prototypes rather than a finished product.
